Why Friday sunset?

Genesis 1 establishes that a biblical day begins at evening: "There was evening and there was morning, one day" (Genesis 1:5). Leviticus 23:32 makes the boundary explicit for the Sabbath of atonement — "From evening to evening, you shall keep your Sabbath." Mark 1:32 confirms the New Testament reckoning: "At evening, when the sun had set…" Adventist practice follows the same biblical pattern.
